Coffee Rush Box and Components

Coffee Rush is a fairly simple game with beautiful design. The plastic containers for the ingredients make setup a breeze. What's more, the rules are simple, so you'll be playing before your coffee has even gone cold!

In this game, players try to fulfil as many orders as quickly as possible. They do this by moving their meeples across the central game board to collect the ingredients they need to make the drinks. It's an easy concept to understand.
Meanwhile, the number of orders keeps increasing; every time the active player fulfils an order, the other players take extra order cards! If your order is not completed on time, you receive penalty points. This really makes you feel the pressure mounting, and you have to love that, otherwise this might not be the game for you.
We played the game with two players, but I think it would be more fun with more players. This time, we were neck and neck throughout the game, and it was a matter of luck whether you still had orders that you could complete. I expect that with more players, there will be a little more excitement in the game. At the same time, the downtime will increase, because it can sometimes take a while for a player to find the most efficient way to move their meeple.

The components are great: the ingredients are miniature versions of what they represent. Players also place these ingredients in miniature coffee cups, which looks really cute. However, you mainly spend your time moving the ingredients from the supply to a cup and back again.

Fun gameplay, beautiful game, but I'll have to play it more often and with more players to see if Coffee Rush remains enjoyable.
