The box of Flip 7 makes no secret of it: \u2018The best card game ever!*\u2019 is stated on the front. I have also played it and would like to let you know how true this claim is.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the back is the rest of the statement: \u2018* in our opinion!\u2019, which adds some nuance. I wouldn't call it \u2018the best card game ever,\u2019 but Flip 7 is certainly entertaining.
It is a push-your-luck party game for 3 to 18 players, but in theory it can be played with an infinite number of people (although it is recommended to use extra copies). Personally, I don't think that would work very well, so we played it with 6 players and it worked great!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each turn, you face the same, seemingly easy choice: do you stop and settle for the points you have collected so far, or do you risk everything and take another card? As soon as you have two cards with the same value, you are out and you score nothing this round. If you stop in time, you score the values of the cards in front of you. If you have pushed your luck so far that you have seven different cards in front of you, you even score extra points. High risk, high reward!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love push-your-luck games, but I'm not so keen on party games and games played in large groups. Flip 7 is an exception, because it's a really fun and fast-paced game that you can literally play with anyone. It requires so little explanation that you can start playing within a few minutes. It also proved suitable for a younger audience; they need some help with the maths, but they quickly understand the consequences of their choices. I've played it twice now and had a lot of fun with it and had a great time with the group of players, so Flip 7 is now a permanent fixture in my bag!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
